research-discipline

Web research produces verifiable, cited, date-aware results.

  1. Cite sources — every factual claim must link to a source URL
  2. Date-aware queries — use current year in search queries, reject stale results
  3. Minimum sources — 3 sources for factual claims, 5 for statistics
  4. Confidence levels — flag findings as high / medium / speculative
  5. Contradiction detection — when sources disagree, present both with evidence
  • When performing web research (WebSearch, WebFetch)
  • When building reference skills (writing-reference-skills)
  • When doing recon (deep-recon-pimp sub-skills)
  • When verifying external facts
  • When working with local code (no external research needed)
  • When using training knowledge for well-established patterns
  • When the user explicitly says “skip research”
