Research Discipline
Section titled “Research Discipline”What This Enforces
Section titled “What This Enforces”Web research produces verifiable, cited, date-aware results.
Constraints
Section titled “Constraints”- Cite sources — every factual claim must link to a source URL
- Date-aware queries — use current year in search queries, reject stale results
- Minimum sources — 3 sources for factual claims, 5 for statistics
- Confidence levels — flag findings as
high/medium/speculative - Contradiction detection — when sources disagree, present both with evidence
When Active
Section titled “When Active”- When performing web research (WebSearch, WebFetch)
- When building reference skills (writing-reference-skills)
- When doing recon (deep-recon-pimp sub-skills)
- When verifying external facts
When Inactive
Section titled “When Inactive”- When working with local code (no external research needed)
- When using training knowledge for well-established patterns
- When the user explicitly says “skip research”
Integration
Section titled “Integration”| Skill | How it uses this rule |
|---|---|
writing-reference-skills | Source Quality Gates enforce G1-G4 |
deep-recon-pimp | All sub-skills enforce source counts + confidence |
web-research | Core research discipline |
armadillo-maker | Phase 3 (RESEARCH) follows these constraints |
